Developing Partnerships in a Global Village: Sudan (Total Run Time: 10:30)

For over 20 years, ADRA has been working with the Hawawir people group of Um Jawasir, Helping them to rebuild their lives after the droughts of the 1980's turned their grazing land into a desert. Bore holes were drilled into the sand which accessed a huge underground lake. Water now flows through canals to fields of alfalfa, sorghum and wheet. A wonderful "bi-product" of the desert farming project has been the well spring of ideas that have transformed this nomadic tribe into a settled community, complete with health clinics, schools and development committees. Join Canadian recording artist, Naomi Striemer on a tour of this "oasis in the desert".
